• On April 20, clashes worsened in Belfast as Bobby Sands reached the 51st day of his hunger strike in a N. Ireland jail.
• On April 24, President Ronald Reagan ended curbs on grain exports to the USSR.
• On April 26, Israeli jets attacked Lebanon killing 15 people in the continuing conflict between the two contries.
• On April 27, in Maryland, ex-VP Spiro Agnew was convicted fo taking bribes and was ordered to repay the money.
• And the number one song 14 years ago this week was "Kiss On My List" by Hall and Oates.
