The Donnas by Ken A. Miller
While a lot of rock bands can write a pretty good song about being a bored suburban teen, how many can claim to actually be bored suburban teens? The Donnas can, and they've graduated early from rock and roll high school to take the world by storm. In the fashion of the Ramones, their idols, the Donnas all share a common name and play a simple yet catchy brand of rock. Still, life may not be boring much longer: since leaving their Palo Alto nest about a year ago, these four precocious teens have been opening for some of the bigger names in garage and punk rock, such as Sleater Kinney, and making celebrity appearances in Interview magazine. Be warned though, rock stars and tennis players age by dog years, so catch these kids before they are old and jaded, which could be about the same time they can legally buy cigarettes. |
