Behind every great RTC list there are a lot of great stories...
ok, maybe there are only a handful. Well, let's be honest, shall
we? There's really only one or two stories behind every list, but
they're kind of strong ones. This one's from a salty dog we call,
Cabin Boy:
I don't recall what year it was, but being movie experts, I'm sure
you will know when I mention this particular movie. Once again Heather
and I were bored and decided to go to the movies. We went to the
late 10:00 PM movie at General Cinema in Speedway Shopping Center.
The movie was Transylvania 6-5000 and it was so, so BAD!!!
So bad in fact that we fell asleep. Well, since this was the late
show and it was a small 2-screen theater, when the movie was over,
they turned off all the lights and locked the doors. The only problem
was that Heather and I were still asleep. I guess they pick up the
trash the next day before the start of business. I woke up first
and it was pitch black and for one second I didn't realize or remember
where I was. Then when I saw Heather alseep in the seat next to
me, it dawned on me. We had to go out into the lobby area and we
called Heather's father on the pay phone and explained to him that
we were locked in General Cinema in Speedway and we needed help.
Her father was a Fire Chief so we knew he would know what to do.
He called the necessary people and they came and turned off the
alarm, unlocked the door and let us out.
